Year 9 Rugby Team Show Pride and Determination

On Wednesday 2nd October, the Year 9 rugby team travelled to play Princethorpe College.

President Kennedy School started strongly with a 50m effort from a loose ball by Raman Chopra, successfully converted by Declan Wilson. This was followed by a trademark long distance try by  Rusciano Thomas-Riley - aka ‘The Kennedy Comet’  again, converted by Wilson, 14 - 0 after 15 minutes.

We switched off a little and became complacent for the 20/25 minutes either side of half time with some poor handling. Tackling and a lack of concentration allowed Princethorpe to gain a 19-14 lead.
However, President Kennedy School dug deep and scored a short range effort to bring the scores to 19-19.
In the last minute, Rusciano did what only he can - turned on the after burners and from distance went in under the posts - converted by inspirational skipper Sam Soinne.

A fantastic victory embodying all that we want President Kennedy students to aspire to - resilience, determination, pride and beating private schools at ‘their’ game on their patch!
Well done lads - local derby v Coundon Court is up next.
